Indian batsmen warmed up for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka, with all of them scoring fluent knocks in a friendly match at the cricket skills camp in Bangalore on Wednesday.
After helping themselves to a few runs, the batsmen opted to retire in the 20-over-a-side match played between Rahul Dravid XI and Virender Sehwag XI, on the penultimate day of the four-day camp.
Batting first, Dravid XI scored 197 for six, while Sehwag XI scored 83 for 3.
Sachin Tendulkar scored 23 with the help of four fours and also fielded for the complete duration of 20 overs, unlike yesterday when he took the field only for a few overs.
Suresh Raina outshone his teammates with the highest score of 35, hitting six fours, while Sehwag and Mahendra Singh Dhoni (3x4, 2x6) scored 30 each. Dinesh Mongia and Mohammad Kaif scored 29 and 25 respectively.
Yuvraj Singh, who scored 16 (2x4), managed to pick two wickets as well and Sehwag also took one apiece.
Ajit Agarkar was dismissed by Yuvraj on 2 but he continued to bat. However, he could score only five more runs before being shown the door, again by the Punjab player.
Ramesh Powar scored 4 in his first stint but returned to score 20 more runs while Harbhajan hit 12. Irfan Pathan scored 10.
