Describing his appointment as captain of the Indian cricket team an "honour and privilege", Rahul Dravid said he will start working on strategies for the series against Sri Lanka after returning from Australia next week.
Dravid was fielding for the World XI in the Super Test against Australia when word reached from home that he was named skipper ahead of an injured Sourav Ganguly.

He said he was informed about the appointment by the Board of Control for Cricket in India during the tea break on the opening day of the Super Test in Sydney on Friday.
"As it was during a game, it was quite a brief conversation in which they congratulated me," he said.
"Once this very important match is over, I look forward to returning to India and meeting up with the coach, the selectors and other players to make plans for the matches that are ahead of us," the stylish batsman said.
