• India's total of 407 is their highest at this venue against Pakistan, bettering the 403, made in 1986-87.

• The last wicket stand of 44 runs between Harbhajan Singh and Anil Kumble is India's best against Pakistan at this ground. The previous best tenth wicket partnership was of 40 runs between Deepak Shodhan and Ghulam Ahmed in 1952-53.

• Pakistan's both opening bowlers -- Mohammad Sami and Mohammad Khalil went wicketless. This provided only the second such instance in a completed innings for Pakistan against India. The only other instance had come at Bangalore in 1986-87 when Imran Khan and Wasim Akram could not take a wicket.

• Younis Khan (108*) made his seventh century in 34 Tests and his first against India in two Tests.

• Yousuf Youhana (101*) made his 13th century in 58 Tests and his second against India in eight Tests.

• The unbeaten partnership of 203 between Younis Khan and Yousuf Youhana was Pakistan's best for the third wicket on Indian soil obliterating the 155-run partnership between Shoaib Mohammad and Javed Miandad at Chennai in 1986-87.

• The above partnership is Pakistan's best at Eden Gardens for any wicket, obliterating the 114 for the fourth wicket between Saeed Anwar and Yousuf Youhana in 1998-99. Incidentally Pakistan's previous best for the third wicket at this venue was 82 between Hanif Mohammad and Javed Burki in 1960-61.

• Younis Khan and Yousuf Youhana provided the eighth instance of two opposition batsmen scoring a century in the same innings at Kolkata. West Indies have done so four times, followed by South Africa (twice) and New Zealand and Pakistan (once each). Interestingly India have never registered a win in any of these Tests.
