Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad has confirmed the marriage plans between his eldest son and daughter of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim.
"Yes, there are plans for the marriage of my son to the daughter of Ibrahim but no date has been set for the marriage. When it happens everyone would know about it and they would be invited to attend the ceremony," Miandad said.
"We Muslims believe that marriages are made in heaven and we don't challenge destiny," he was quoted as saying by The News on Sunday.
Reacting to media reports which claimed that wedding ceremony was slated to take place secretly in Dubai, the cricketers said there were no immediate plans for the wedding.
"That is all rubbish, no date has been drawn up as yet and I would now request the press and people to let this matter rest and allow us to live in peace," he said.
"When it happens it will not be a secret ceremony," he added.
Dawood is wanted by the Indian government for masterminding the 1993 serial bomb blasts in Mumbai.
Miandad's son Junaid, studying at the Oxford University, met his future wife, also said to be based in London, and the two reportedly got engaged last year.
