After conceding a narrow 14-run first innings lead to Gujarat, Maharashtra were 104 for the loss of one wicket in their second innings on the third day of the four-day Ranji Trophy Elite Group 'A' match played in Valsad on Saturday.
Opener Dheeraj Jadhav (54, 7x4s) and skipper Hrishikesh Kanitkar (22, 2x4s) were at the crease when stumps were drawn for the day.

Earlier, resuming at the overnight score of 159 for 4, the hosts added 99 runs and the entire team was bowled out for 258 in 123.3 overs. Maharashtra, who scored 244 runs in their first essay, thus conceded a lead of 14 runs.
For the visitors, medium pacer Munaf Patel, who opted to play for Maharashtra than Mumbai in this season, took three wickets while spinners S Burkul and Rohit Jadhav also chipped in with three wickets each.
Neeraj Patel and Akash Christian emerged as the top scorers for Gujarat by making 47 runs each.
