Zee Telefilms accused the Board of Control for Cricket in India and ESPN-Star Sports of hatching a "conspiracy" and said it would go in for legal action against the BCCI's decision to go in for a fresh tender for its telecast rights.

"There is a collusion and conspiracy between BCCI's Jagmohan Dalmiya and ESPN-Star Sports. The court could also see it clearly. But since the petitioner, ESPN-Star Sports, in collusion with the BCCI counsel withdrew the petition, the court had no option than to record the statement and pass no order," Zee Telefilms chief Subhash Chandra said.

The BCCI told the Bombay high court on Tuesday that it is cancelling the tender process for the telecast rights for cricket matches following which ESPN-Star Sports withdrew its petition.

Chandra maintained that Zee Telefilms had been awarded the contract by BCCI.

"We feel we have a concluded contract with us," he said.

He said after the 14 members of the BCCI's marketing committee decided to award the contract to his company, Zee Telefilms deposited the $20 million that the BCCI has asked for.

"We gave the money and they sent us the Letter of Intent. But it could not be progressed further due to court proceedings," he said.

The broadcaster, which has announced plans to launch a sports channel from October 2, said it is prepared for further legal action.
