Australia named uncapped batsman Michael Hussey on Friday to replace the injured Michael Bevan in their 13-man squad for the triangular one-day series against Zimbabwe and India.

Michael HusseyHussey, a left-hander like Bevan, has captained Australia A and his form has helped lift Western Australia to the top of the table in the interstate one-day competition.

The 28-year-old has scored 326 runs from five innings at an average of 81.50, including a century against New South Wales in November.

Australia chairman of selectors Trevor Hohns said in a statement: "Michael Hussey has been knocking on the selection door for some time."

"His form as one of the (interstate one-day competition's) leading run scorers this summer has been excellent."

"We will sit down and review the squad following the match (against India) in Perth (on Sunday) as the side moves into the finals series," Hohns added.

FINALS SERIES

Australia and India have already qualified for the best-of-three finals series which starts in Melbourne on February 6.

India play Zimbabwe in Perth on Tuesday.

Bevan has been ruled out of the rest of the triangular series with a fractured rib.

The left-hander, who made 56 despite batting with the injury in Thursday's washed-out match against Zimbabwe in Melbourne, is expected to be out for between two and six weeks and is in doubt for next month's one-day series in Sri Lanka.

Bevan, 33, suffered the injury while batting in the nets in Adelaide earlier in the week.

Australia captain Ricky Ponting has been rested for the Perth match and New South Wales left-hander Simon Katich has been recalled.

India are expected to recall Sachin Tendulkar on Sunday after one-day cricket's top run scorer missed the last three matches with calf and ankle injuries.

"He's progressing well with his rehab. He should be fine for the next match," said a team spokesman.
