Highlights of Hazare's career:
- First Indian to score a century in each innings of a Test -- 116 and 145 against Australia at Adelaide in 1947-48
- First player in Test cricket history to score two centuries in first two innings as captain
- First Indian to complete 1,000 and 2,000 runs in Test cricket
- First Indian to score three centuries in consecutive innings
- First Indian captain to win a Test for India -- v England at Madras in 1951-52 (India's 25th Test)
- First Indian to contribute more than 50% in a Test innings -- 52.35% (145 out of 277 v Australia, Adelaide,1947-48)
- Scored at least a century against all four Test opponents
- His record in domestic Indian cricket was phenomenal, with two triple centuries -- the second an amazing 309 not out of a total of 387 for The Rest v The Hindus at Bombay in 1943-44 with the second highest score being only 22
- His partnership of 577 runs with Gul Mahomed for Baroda v Holkar at Baroda in 1946-47 is still the highest for any wicket in first-class cricket
- Dismissed Don Bradman thrice in his career
- Hazare's career aggregate of 18,740 runs in first-class cricket is the second highest by an Indian and is exceeded only by Sunil Gavaskar.
- Hazare's 60 centuries are the second most scored by an Indian in all first class cricket. Only Sunil Gavaskar has scored more.
- Performed the all round feat of 6,000 runs and 200 wickets in Ranji Trophy (6,312 runs and 291 wickets)
