Australia batsman Darren Lehmann escaped with a warning over remarks he made to the Sri Lankan players during Wednesday's triangular one-day series match, Australian media reported on Thursday.

Lehmann was reportedly reprimanded by match referee Clive Lloyd and warned about his future conduct after a verbal outburst directed at some of the Sri Lankans.

Sri Lankan manager Ajit Jayasekera told a Sydney radio station the team had complained to Lloyd about the nature of Lehmann's comments.

However, Jayasekera said he was satisfied the issue had been resolved after the Australian personally apologised to the team for his outburst.

"We felt that he went a bit far," Jayasekera said.

"(But) he apologised and he was also man enough to send a written apology, so we accept it and there's no problem beyond that."
