Australian skipper Steve Waugh followed Martyn back to the pavilion, retiring hurt when Agarkar smacked him on the left elbow off the second delivery he faced.
After letting the first ball from Agarkar fly to the 'keeper, Waugh ducked and turned away from the second delivery anticipating a bouncer. The ball did not bounce as high as he had thought and struck a sharp blow on his left elbow.
There were fears whether Waugh would return to bat or take any further part in what is his farewell series.
