The Board of Control for Cricket in India constituted a three-member Disciplinary Committee to decide the fate of Abhijit Kale, who is accused of offering bribes to two national selectors to secure a berth in the team for the tour of Australia.

The committee, to be headed by BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya, includes the Board's two vice-presidents, Kamal Morarka and Ranbir Singh Mahendra.

A statement from the BCCI said the first meeting of the committee will be held in Kolkata on December 11.

The committee has been constituted following receipt of Inquiry Commissioner D V Subba Rao's report on his probe into allegations by national selectors Pranab Roy and Kiran More that Kale had offered them Rs 10 lakh [approximately $22,000] each to select him for the tour of Australia.

Subba Rao, in his report, stated that he found prima facie material for the Board to proceed further against Kale.
