Ind vs Zim - 1st ODI, Faridabad
About the town
Faridabad is a town located in the southeastern side of the state of
Haryana, northwest of India. It is well connected by road with the capital
Delhi (in the north).
It was founded in 1607 by Shaikh Farid, the Mughal
Emperor Jahangir's treasurer, to protect the Delhi-Agra high road. By1867,
the town became a municipality.
In 1950, it became a refugee resettlement
colony for people affected by the partition.
Since then it has grown as a
light industrial estate and today it is a local market for wheat, sugarcane,
and cotton.
About the ground
