Tendulkar bereaved

Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar suffered a personal loss when his grandmother, Indumati Tendulkar, passed away in Mumbai on Sunday night, family sources informed on Monday.

She was 92.

Indumati, who had been staying with Tendulkar after his father Ramesh's death three years ago, died in her sleep.

The funeral was held on Monday morning.

Meanwhile, Tendulkar, who is with the Indian team in England, was given the option of skipping practice, but the maestro joined the team at nets, saying it would help him keep his mind off the tragedy.

At the time of his father's the death too, Tendulkar was in England, playing in the 1999 World Cup.
