Parthiv, Harbhajan included

India captain Sourav Ganguly won the toss and elected to bat in the second cricket Test against England, at Trent Bridge, on Thursday.

India made two changes to the side that played the first Test, bringing in Harbhajan Singh for Anil Kumble and 17-year-old wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel for Ajay Ratra.

Both Kumble and Ratra are injured.

At 17 years and 158 days, Patel is the third youngest to play for India.

England decided to go in with five fast bowlers, bringing in Dominic Cork and debutant Steve Harmisson for Ashley Giles and an injured Simon Jones.

Opener Robert Key will also make his debut. He replaces Graham Thorpe, who opted out due to personal reasons.

Teams:
India: Sourav Ganguly (captain), Wasim Jaffer, Virender Sehwag, Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, V V S Laxman, Ajit Agarkar, Parthiv Patel, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan, Ashish Nehra.

England: Nasser Hussain (captain), Robert Key, Mark Butcher, Micahel Vaughan, John Crawley, Alec Stewart, Andrew Flintoff, Craig White, Matthew Hoggard, Steve Harmisson, Dominic Cork.

Umpires: Rudy Koertzen (South Africa) and Russel Tiffin (Zimbabwe).

Match-referee: Clive Lloyd (West Indies).
