Rich haul by Sanjay Bangar

Board President's medium pacer Sanjay Bangar finished with a five-wicket haul to expose the chinks in the English batting as the three-day match between the teams ended in a tame draw in Hyderababd on Saturday.

The Englishmen, who had scored 320 in their first innings, largely due to a brilliant 105 by Mark Ramprakash, were 163 for nine in their second knock when the match came to an end after the sixth mandatory over.

Bangar dismissed English skipper Nasser Hussain for 38, with Murali Kartik taking a good catch, and followed it up with the wickets of Graham Thorpe (13) Craig White (4), James Foster (0) and Richard Dawson (1) to break the back of the English batting and end up with figures of 5 for 32 runs.

Kartik claimed the prized wicket of Ramprakash, who was caught by wicketkeeper Pankaj Dharmani for 32.

Earlier, Board President's XI resumed at 256 for 2 and declared at 339 for seven after taking a slender 19-run first innings lead.

Overnight centurion Sridharan Sriram added 29 to his score of 120 while Jacob Martin was out for 89 after adding six to his total.

Rohan Gavaskar (24) was the only other player who was among runs, taking the score past the English side's 320.

For the visitors Martyn Ball claimed 3 for 89 while Matthew Hoggard and Craig White took two wickets apiece.

The Englishmen now proceed to Jaipur, where they will play their second three-day match against India 'A', starting on November 27.
