Ganguly praises Sehwag

India skipper Sourav Ganguly heaped praise on young all-rounder Virender Sehwag for his key contribution to the 60-run win over Australia in the first match of their one-day series on Sunday.

Man-of-the-match Sehwag hit a rapid 58 in India's 315 all out and then took three wickets with is off-spin in Australia's reply.

"He played positively under pressure," said Ganguly. "It is a very good sign."

Said Sehwag: "The pitch was so good that I played my natural game, adding that the three wickets he took were reward for bowling a tight line as advised by his skipper.

Ganguly, who struggled with the bat in India's 2-1 Test series triumph over the Australians and scored just six on Sunday, said he was confident he would run into form soon.

"It is time I scored runs and I am sure I will," he said.

Australia skipper Steve Waugh felt his side should have restricted India to around 290.

"We should have won the game from where we were in the 25th over," he said.
