Streak resumes Zimbabwe captaincy

Heath Streak did an amazing turnaround and resumed the captaincy of Zimbabwe for the one-day international against India at the Harare Sports Club on Sunday.

Streak relinquished the position just before the start of play against West Indies on Saturday, citing differences with the team selectors.

Grant Flower deputised at short notice although Streak did play in the match, which Zimbabwe lost by 27 runs.

Streak and the team held meetings with the Zimbabwe Cricket Union last night and although there has been no official confirmation, Streak is back in charge.

Streak said on Saturday: "The selectors and I do not agree on some issues and they seem to have no confidence in me, which is undermining my ability as captain."

"I don't know who will be captaining the side tomorrow. At this stage it hasn't been decided."

"My resignation was a protest but I hope that things can be resolved," he added.
