Part 1 | Part 2
The Australians are the unofficial world champions, they have been on an incredibly long winning streak, so their confidence levels are going to be high. Also their motivation levels -- beating India in India is a cachet they don't possess, but which they would definitely like to add to their CV, so they are going to go flat out towards that end when they come here.
Their biggest strength as a team is their confidence -- they have been winning everything in sight and that becomes a habit. Besides, they have a very well balanced side -- good batsmen, a great pace attack, and quality spin bowlers as well, so they have the ammunition to take advantage of whatever conditions they find here.
If I were to pick specific players who form the key to their team, I would pick, among the batsmen, Ricky Ponting, Mark Waugh and Steve Waugh -- all three of whom play spin very well, and are equally at home against seam and swing.
