Borde denies hand in pitch preparation
Board of Control for Cricket in India selection committee chairman Chandu Borde on Friday denied instructing Mumbai Cricket Association curators to prepare a flat pitch for the first Test against Australia, at the Wankhede stadium, from February 27.
Dismissing reports in a section of the press, that he along with pitch committee members K Ragan and Dhiraj Parsana had asked for a docile pitch to nullify the bowling advantage of the Australians, Borde said he was not involved in the preparation of pitches nor did he have any conversation in that regard with India coach John Wright.
He said his job is to solely pick the national side after
witnessing key domestic matches. Beyond that, he said, there is no other
involvement.
