West Indies win u-15 World Cup

The West Indies won the Costcutter under-15 World Challenge beating Pakistan by two wickets in the final at Lord's on Thursday evening.

Put in to bat, Pakistan had a hesitant start and lost first four wickets for 69 runs. The slide continued before till they reached 149 for nine before a 26-run last wicket stand between Talal Zia, son of Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Gen Tauqir Zia, and Shehreyar Khan saw them finish at 175 from 49.3 overs.

Zulqarnain top-scored with 48 from 90 balls and Shahid Yousaf contributed 46.

The West Indies rode on a fine half-century by Assad Fudadin to reach the target with 23 balls to spare. Fudadin played the perfect anchoring role to see his side through to victory.

His 55 off 82 balls was studded with nine fours and won him the man of the match award.

Brief scores:

Pakistan: 175 (Shahid Yousaf 46, Zulqarnain 48, Santokie 2/34, Punoo 2/32, Marshall 2/27, Maraj 2/15).
West Indies: 176 for 8 (A Fudadin 55).
