'I'm quiet, single and available'Bombay, 25 May, 2001: Debutant Karan Nath was an extremely charming guest, who made it amply clear that he is single but has his priorities right. Warding off comparisons with the extremely successful star son Hrithik Roshan, he announced that he'd rather chart his own course as an actor.
Karan Nath : Hi guys wass up? vibchan : just tell me about your work Karan Nath : Paagalpan is just around the corner, it should be releasing on the 8th of June, I'm very excited about it, till now everything is right on track. ash : so karan aage ka kya plan hai Karan Nath : Now lets see yaar, waiting for the release of the film, I'm very charged up about it, lets hope for the best parry : So ur late karan even before ur First release Karan Nath : You have to forgive me yaar, yesterday was my birthday so I was partying till late last nite, otherwise I'm very punctual, you can ask Joy, he'll be coming on the 28th:-) ujjval_S : karan reply kar yaar..u forgot that we met the other day ? Karan Nath : Hi Ujjval man, hows it going? JayGoa : Karan, how did u feel working with Joy (i'm from Goa and i know Joy very well. Karan Nath : It was a wonderful experience working with him, he is vry talented and a great technician, plus he has a great sense of music as well. And also very good at heart, very friendly, always joking around whenever we were off the sets, but on the sets he is very hardworking and punctual ArjunYou : So how does it feel doing your first film? Karan Nath : It was a superb experience, I mea especially working with experienced people like Kuku Kohli, Aruna Irani, Baba Azmi, for Yeh Dil Aashiqana and at the same time on the other hand I had Paagalpan which had all newcomers even the technicians were even the spotboys were new vibchan : karan your fav colour Karan Nath : Its the most simple question uptill now, black, blue and red parry : Karan do u like any particular Role which u wanna do in future Karan Nath : The role which Al Pacino played in Scarface where he played the mafia don, thats a character I would like to essay, a character which was full of fire, something like what Sanjay Dutt did in Vaastav preeti : karan karan????reply,replyreplyreplyreplyreplyreply whats yr future plans ,do u have girl friend Karan Nath : No Preeti I dont have a girlfriend, I'm quiet single and avialable;-) ArjunYou : Do you have any professional qualification in acting? Karan Nath : I have done my acting course from Mr Kishore Namit Kishore, where dance is concerened I have done a 3-4 month course under Shaimak Davar and then I have done courses Jojo, and for action I trained under Dinesh and Yagneesh Shetty. parry : I don't think it will suit ur personality karan Karan Nath : Till now you have only seen in me in the soft romantic looks but I'm sure I can give equal justice to such a character too, guess only time will tell parry : Why do Hindi Actors Always have a choice from Hollywood Films??? Karan Nath : Bcause I guess Bollywood actors dont experiment much, guess all the films that have clicked over here are romantic films, so audiences have been seeing the sme films. Whereas in Hollywood they are always experimenting and working on new characters jeet : karan will u act oppossite mads if given a chance Karan Nath : YEAH i WOULD LOVE TO, but definitely not opposite hr because she would look like my mother:-) but I would love to act with her because she is a tremendous actress ArjunYou : But do you think with the onset of so many stars you would succeed? Karan Nath : I just need to be focussed on my work and its good that there are others around because if the competition is healthy only then would u know where you stand. And I'm really looking forward to it so lts see papai : Karan you know you have the same face as my boyfriend has? Karan Nath : Well I guess you now know the truth, I am your boyfriend, and my real name is Karan....guesss have been lying to you all these years :-( parry : How is ur film different from other LOve stories Karan Nath : Its different because the treatment in the film is very different, its a romantic love story but its not the same as the regular love stories even the scenes have been treated very differently though the best part is that it is lookoing very fresh because right from the artistes to te technicians everyone is new. parry : U are right karan That is Why a Brilliant Actor Like Amitabh has to suffer But even then he gives Full full justice to his roles like in EK RISHTA Karan Nath : I dont think Amitabh is suffering he is a ery accomplished and known actor and he is a legend but you are right in a way his potentional has never been tapped, I guess Amitabh and Al Pacino are of the same class, only difference being Pacino has experimented a lot Akanksha : Karan if you happen to have a affair with a co-star will u announce it or keep it under wraps? Karan Nath : Nah na, I;m a very open guy, I never hide anything so whenever any such thing happens I will definitely let the whole world know about it I dont believe in hiding things jeet : will u act if ur father directs a film and offers u a role in it Karan Nath : Yeah definitely and we are planning on it, my home production should get underway in a coupl of months and uptill now only the director has been fianlised that is Mr Satish Kaushik. meera : hi karan, are u planning to act in any ads...that seems to a better way of getting exposed to the indian crowd Karan Nath : Yeah but then what happens is too many ads definitely give you a lot of exposure but then you become too common, so I guess if you goal is ultimately movies the best way is to directly go for it amy : Karan Nath, do you think changing your name would make you more appealing as a star? Karan Nath : I ont believe in changing names yaar, I think Karan Nath sounds pretty ok and first of all I dont understand why people believe in changing names but I guess thats their way of thinking jeet : does it help being a son of big time film personality in the industry, do people take you more seriously than a new comer Karan Nath : It definitely does, right now all the exposure Im getting is due to my dad and I consider myself very lucky and fortunate to have somebody like him behind me because I have seen people struggling for work and like that I never had to strugle that much, but right now my strugle is on because my dad has got me in, but from here now its gonna be all on my talent whether I can carry forward or not., and I'm very confident of myself so I guess only time will tell raaji : what could have been your future position had you not turned up to this field? Karan Nath : Actually I was a tennis player I used to play at National level, so I think if I have something to fall back on its tennis first, but I have never thought of an option becuase I'm very positive about myself and I'm an optimist I never think negatively lekha : HI KIRAN, HAVE U LOVED ANY ONE? Karan Nath : Yeah I mean I did break up with one when I was in college but that was more than a year back, I hav had my share of few crushes but right now I'm just too focussed on my work I hve been shooting around the clock aaa : karan , in this film world every person who has something different survives, what do you think you have? Karan Nath : I think in todays world you have to be a complete actor because the competition is too high so you have to be good in all the slots and I do believe in myself a ot and I am a complete actor, I just need to prove myself. As for being different, which somethings you guys will have to judge for yourself raaji : what will you do if you win in crorepathi??? Karan Nath : First of all even if I win they will make me donte my money or maybe I myself wll donate it, I think the best thing about crorepati is that you have one hour to chat with a legend sharad : what do you say about the song "dil dil hai deewana Karan Nath : Oh I think the song has been very well picturised and it reall grows on you, the entire song has been shot in Mauratius and it hs come out really well parry : My advise to you karan is that don't go for masses u go for classes and u will automatically accepted in masses also but opposite is never possible Karan Nath : You must be knowing about the Govinda factor! What I am concentraing on is going for all kinds of roles were I am not labelled as a loverboy or a action hero or a Govinda, Thats why in Paagalpan my character is a loverboy and in Yeh Dil Aashiqana my character is an action hero which has got a totally different shade to it Akanksha : Karan will u be openly accessible to ur fans or u prefer to be aloof? Karan Nath : I have always been very humble because I have been brought up like that so I will always be open to all my fans vandy : karan what will be ur reaction if u become a phenomemon like rithik roshan Karan Nath : Its definitely a good feeling but that feeling has gots its highs and lows, I mean it can really take you up right there at one go, but it can also can you down at one go. Karan Nath : I think Preity Zinta i very cute I would like to work with her and she is a good actress as well rajesh : what do you think was your father's major contribution to the careers of madhuri and anil kapoor? Karan Nath : I think it was proper teamwork my dad his job and Anil and Madhuri did theirs and I think it is teamwork because you have to be sincere to your work and the same thing applies to everyone vine : Karan...something serious and rather friendly, i m sure there would have been lots of moments on sets of Pagaslpan ..were u at any moment during ascene or a song, ATTRACTED or ARoused by ur co-star,(i froiget her name).,...be honest to reply..buddy Karan Nath : No actually it was a wonderful experience working with Arti but to be honest I have never developed that kind of feelings for her because during the whole making of the film I was always focussed on my acting so I never ever felt anything else avanti : karan who's ur alltime favourite actor Karan Nath : I like all oldies so my fve actor is Sanjeev Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and then in Hollywood I like Al Pacino, De Niro, Anthony Hopkins, Samuel L Jackson aaa : Tell me one thing karan, is doing comedy difficult or doing a serious character is difficult? Karan Nath : I think both of them have their own charm, comedy is all bout timing, whereas serious characters have to be made more live with proper conviction Akanksha : Karan u seem to be extremely talented, what & who is your benchmark? Karan Nath : I would just like to be known as a accomplished, complete and versatile actor thats why I;m working on different characters dhiraj : karan, I am from NeyYork.Tell me wasnt it difficult working with a costar of such young age?
