Miheer Mafatlal

Miheer Mafatlal In India, it's been just over an year since the Internet emerged out of the labs of research institutions and development agencies to enter the homes and offices of ordinary mortals. Many embraced the online religion, and, as is usual, the fervour of converts exceeded that of the old faithful. Consequently, the spotlight swung on to the high-profile newbies.

Certain veterans were, however, too colourful to be ignored. Among them is Miheer Mafatlal, the 39-year-old, flamboyant and garrulous chemist, the first Indian on Talk City's community conference crew, a Wharton graduate, businessman and, above all, a devout Web and Mac evangelist.

When Rediff On The Net invited him to the com:port for an online discussion, it was difficult to pick a topic. The problem was of that of plenty. Miheer can authoritatively cover a range of technical topics. But the vehemence with which he shunned our IBM clones, insisting on hooking his Mac to our LAN, made us see what was closest to his heart. So on Wednesday, Miheer will discuss the PC versus the Mac in the age of the Internet.
