1. Seoul Commune 2026

The towers resemble a green vertical park. A technological advanced building, its outer surface is made of a geotextile that helps vines grow during the summer months.

These green structures have an internal watering system and a fog machine with automatic temperature and humidity sensors.

The water distribution system takes care of 30 percent of the cooling load during the summer.

Spread across an area of 393,400 square meters of land, there are 15 towers of varying height in this mind blowing concept.

Seoul Commune 2026 is located in Apgujongdong, a central area in the southern part of Seoul.

2. Ultima Tower, San Francisco

Designed by Eugene Tsui, this futuristic city aims to address the burgeoning population.

Resembling a human termite nest, the green towers can accommodate one million people.

The tower could be used for residential or commercial purposes. The building focuses on recycling goods and will use only eco friendly materials.

Sky City 1000, Tokyo

Emphasizing on green space, Takenaka Corporation proposed this project for over 1 lakh people.

Standing tall at 1000 meters high, it has 14 concave dish-shaped 'Space Plateaus' one on top of the other.

While the interior of the plateaus have green spaces, the apartments would be built on the sides of the building. The building will also have a monorail system.

Crystal Island, Moscow

The Crystal Island designed by Foster + Partners can accommodate 30 000 people in 900 apartments.

It will also have hotel rooms, cinema, theatre, museum, sports fields, shopping malls and a school as well.

The building is designed with built-in solar panels and wind turbines.

Bionic Tower, Hong Kong

The Bionic Tower is a proposed vertical city, an extremely large building designed by Spanish architects Eloy Celaya, Rosa Cervera and Javier Gomez.

It can accommodate 1 lakh people. The main tower will be 1,228 metres (4,029 ft) high, with 300 storeys.

X-seed 4000, Tokyo

The X-Seed 4000 has one of the tallest buildings for a futuristic city.

The idea was initially created and developed by Peter Neville. Its proposed 4 km (2.5 mi) height, 6 km (3.7 mi) wide sea-base, and 800 floor capacity could accommodate five hundred thousand to one million inhabitants.

It was designed for Tokyo, Japan by the Taisei Corporation in 1995 as a futuristic environment combining ultra-modern living and interaction with nature.

7. Shimizu Try 2004 Mega-City Pyramid

The Shimizu TRY 2004 Mega-City Pyramid is a proposed project over Tokyo Bay in Japan.

The structure would be about 14 times higher than the Great Pyramid at Giza, and would house 750,000 people. The structure would be 730 meters above the sea level.

Ziggurat Dubai Carbon Neutral Pyramid, Dubai

Spread across an areas of 2.3 square kilometers, the Ziggurat Dubai Carbon Neutral Pyramid is designed to house 1 million residents.

This eco-friendly building was unveiled at Dubai Cityscape Event in 2008. The project was undertaken by Dubai based environmental design company Timelinks.

The city will use natural renewable energy resources of solar, wind and steam making it completely sustainable in terms of energy needs.
