On average every person in the world aged 15 years or older drinks 6.2 litres of pure alcohol per year, says the recent World Health Organization (WHO) report on alcohol consumption globally.
The study, which analysed per capita alcohol consumption from 2008 to 2010, found that Europe had the highest per person alcohol consumption.
