Who are India's highest paid chief executive officers?

Well, to put the record straight, India's richest man, chairman of Reliance Industries Mukesh Ambani is not among the top 10 earners. Ambani's salary for the past three years stands at 15 crore (Rs 150 million) a year.

1. Naveen Jindal
Salary: Rs 67.21 crore (Rs 672.1 million)

Naveen Jindal remains the highest paid corporate head in India for the second consecutive year.

Jindal's salary fell by 3.66 per cent in 2010-2011.

Executive vice chairman & managing director of Jindal Steel & Power, Naveen Jindal is also a member of the Parliament (MP).

Bharti Airtel chairman Sunil Mittal's salary rose by 17.11 per cent making him the fourth highest paid executive in India.

Salary: Rs 26.75 crore (Rs 267.5 million)

Brijmohan Lall Munjal's salary dropped by 12.69 per cent in 2010-11.

Founder director and chairman of Hero MotoCorp, Brijmohan Lall Munjal has also served as the president of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM).

Pawan Munjal is the managing director and CEO of Hero Honda. He is responsible for growth and strategic planning for the entire group.

BG Raghupathy is the chairman and Managing Director of BGR Energy Systems. His wealth rose by 180 per cent in 2010-11.

Salary: Rs 17.31 crore (Rs 173.1 million)

Debu Bhattacharya heads the Aditya Birla Group's non-ferrous metals business, and is the Managing Director of Hindalco Industries Limited.

Bhattacharya is also the Vice Chairman of Novelis Inc. His salary rose by 31.64 per cent in 2010-11.
