Unusual hotels around the world

Lot of unusual hotels exist around the world. For example, in Germany, a former jail is converted into a hotel that lets customers have a complete jail experience. In Brazil’s Sao Paulo city, dog owners can rent hotels for their pets to mate.

Shown in the picture above are two Yorkshire terriers Billy (R) and Jully (L), sit on the bed at a pet motel in Sao Paulo. The doggy love motel, complete with a heart-shaped mirror on the ceiling and a headboard resembling a doggy bone, has opened for amorous pooches in Brazil.

The doggy love motel in Sao Paulo, South America's largest city, was inspired by the thousands of such establishments that rent rooms to Brazilian couples for four-hour periods for trysts.

The air-conditioned pet love motel room, with a paw print decorative motif, has a special control panel to dim the lights, turn on romantic music or play films. The dog motel, which opened this month, costs 100 reais ($41) for two hours.

Two year-old Siberian husky Inook has a sip of imported bottled water as he receives his room service from David Wang during a recent visit to Vancouver's Sutton Place Hotel.

The five-star Vancouver hotel has begun a room service for VIP (very important pets) catering to guests traveling with their faithful dog or cat.

Owners can order a gourmet dinner of grilled Alberta beef, T-bone steak or seared fresh tuna filet topped with caviar. The hotel also offers a walking service and pet massages.

One-year-old dog Fine looks through the fence of her dog lodge garden in the worlds first dog luxury hotel 'Canis Resort' in Freising north of Munich December.

The dog hotel is able to accommodate up to 45 dogs in nine heated dog lodges. The 20 dogsitters offer a seven day, 24 hours full service for all dogs, includes grooming, health care, pick-up, and gate-to-gate service.

Day care costs 65 euros and overnight care for 80 euros.

A reporter visits China's largest capsule hotel in Qingdao, Shandong province. The hotel has 100 capsule rooms, each equipped with an LCD TV, WiFi connection, a computer desk, a dresser and comfortable bedding.

Entirely made of ice, the hotel offers accommodation in 10 double rooms with king size beds, where the temperature is between -2 and +2 degrees Celsius, at a price of 35 Euro ($45.73) per person.

A 200 square metre production hall of a small vacuum-cleaner factory was used to create an indoor garden where guests can sleep in old caravans and wooden huts.

The hostel was opened in August this year in a former storage facility, consists of 15 various camping caravans in vintage style, two former railway Pullman coaches and four US Airstream trailers all with shared washrooms.

The prices of the 120 beds in the 1600 square meter indoor complex range from 22 to 69 euros per night.

The "Hotel Everland"  is an art installation consisting of an actual one-room hotel offering 1970s-style glamour, artistic cachet, a view of the Eiffel Tower and was on the roof of the museum for a while, functioning as both a museum exhibit and a room where people can stay overnight.

The Cabin is seen under construction on the site of Treehotel in the Swedish village of Harads. A lofty new hotel concept in a remote village in northern Sweden, it aims to elevate the simple treehouse into a world-class destination for design-conscious travellers.

Treehotel, located in Harads about 60 km south of the Arctic Circle, will consist of four rooms: The Cabin, The Blue Cone, The Nest and The Mirrorcube.
