Among the major motor shows across the globe, there are a few names like Detroit, Geneva, Frankfurt, Paris and Tokyo that come to the mind.

Out of these, Tokyo Motor show is considered to be quite popular as it showcases spectacular 'Concept Cars'.

Since its inception, this internationally renowned Motor Show has marked its 43rd count this year and is scheduled to be held from 23rd November to 1st December 2013.

The Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association (JAMA) organises this huge event, which would be held at Makuhari Messe, Chiba City, Japan.

The highlights of the show usually comprise of 'Concept Cars' by leading automobile companies, which attract a huge number of car enthusiasts to this event.

Apart from these, it has also proved to be an efficient platform for the introduction of production cars but that does not outnumber the Concept cars put on display at the venue.

Organised every alternate year, the 43rd event has opened a huge platform to bring new cars, motorcycles, commercial vehicles and future mobility vehicles for the audience.

This year, the event will be open for the general public from 23rd November to 1st December; visitors will witness some marvellous designs in the form of new concepts that are put on display.

The 43rd Tokyo Motor Show will be held at Tokyo Big Sight, and this time there will be 14 manufacturers and 15 brands from Japan itself, while 18 brands from abroad are fixed to exhibit their car models at the event.

As of now, if sources are to be believed, Lexus will unveil the all-new Lexus RC, which will be introduced with two versions - RC 350 with a 3.5-liter V6 engine and RC 300h hybrid with a 2.5-litre unit.

The two-door coupe is certainly bestowed with amazing design philosophy and is designed in a way to attract wider audience, while the ones that are new to this brand, will also find the vehicle very appealing.

Another brand in this series is Mitsubishi, which has concrete plans to unveil three of its concept cars at the 43rd Tokyo Motor Show.

All of these are designed, incorporating the practical functionality as well as safety features that are usually bound to SUVs.

The concepts are named, Mitsubishi Concept GC-PHEV, Mitsubishi Concept XR-PHEV and Concept AR.

The GC-PHEV is the next gen full-size SUV that is mechanised with four wheel drive and is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 supercharged MIVEC engine coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission.

This makes the vehicle set for all-terrain drive with utter comfort and awesome driveability. The XR-PHEV is a compact SUV powered by a 1.1 litre direct-injection turbocharged MIVEC engine and is also endowed with several features that makes it a perfect vehicle in its segment.

Another in the series is the concept AR, which is combined with maneuverability; it's an SUV with considerable space internally like in any MPV.

So, basically it is one of the next-gen compact MPV designed under the brand name of Mitsubishi.

The AR model gets a downsized 1.1-liter direct-injection turbocharged MIVEC engine under its hood, which again makes the ride effortless and offers amazing performance.

As mentioned earlier, all three concepts offer highly rated safety features on board that include e-assist active safety technologies, while the 'connected car' technology allows a higher level of comfort as it uses advance information systems.

Apart from these three highlighted concept cars, the Mitsubishi Motor Corporation (MMC) will put 17 other models on display, as well as the new eK Space (production model) during the show.
