May 14, 2003 17:54 IST

Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd has inked a pact with ICICI Bank Ltd, whereby the private sector bank will distribute the former's Tata Indicom dial-up Internet services through its ATMs in the country.

"The tie-up would enable ICICI Bank's customers to buy or renew Tata Indicom Internet packs through the bank's 1,675 ATMs in India," VSNL director operations N Srinath told reporters in Mumbai on Wednesday.

An ATM user or a debit cardholder would be able to purchase a serial number and PIN required for online registration or renewal from an ATM kiosk. By using these numbers, the user can renew the connection by logging in at https://signup.vsnl.com.

The Tata group had recently re-branded its dail-up Internet services under the Tata Indicom brand and adopted the distribution of Tata Indicom packs under a fast moving consumer goods model.

The packs are being sold through over 3,000 outlets in eight cities, including the metros, in denominations ranging from Rs 100 to Rs 3,040.
