UTStarcom Inc, a provider of IP access networking and services, on Wednesday announced the opening of its technical support centre for the Asia-Pacific region in Gurgaon, near New Delhi.
The centre has a team of trained engineers to provide technical support and answer queries of UTStarcom's clients in the Asia-Pacific region," Sishir Kumar, director of the tech support centre, told PTI in New Delhi.
The centre currently has 13 engineers. "By the end of this year the number is expected to cross 20 as UTStarcom introduces new products and wins new clients in the region," he said.
The pilot of the Gurgaon centre began in February and it is now fully functional.
UTStarcom also opened a similar facility in Mexico City, Mexico. The Mexico centre will service UTStarcom's clients in Latin America.
"The opening of these new facilities enables UTStarcom to quickly take on projects in these rapidly growing regions of the world, which we believe will become significant markets for UTStarcom," said Steve Shaffer, vice-president of the International Professional Services Group at UTStarcom.
