TVS Motor Company has reported a 30 per cent decline in motorcycle sales during November 2003 at 48,052 units, compared to 68,631 units in the same month last year.

The company expects the declining trend to continue in December.

"The growth last month (November) was lower than the market due to drop in sales of the two-stroke Max motorcycles," a company press release said in Mumbai on Monday.

Total two wheeler sales showed a negative trend with a 13 per cent decline, recording sales of 85,840 units last month as compared to 98,731 units sold last year during the same period, it said.

The company expects to launch two new four-stroke motorcycles -- TVS Centra and an upgraded 125cc Victor -- in the new year.

In the scooter segment (100cc category), the company registered a 42 per cent growth with sales of 16,827 units in November compared to 11,815 units last year.

Moped sales registered a 13 per cent rise by clocking 20,601 units last month as compared to 18,285 units last year, the release added.
