Mukesh Ambani-led RIL added Rs 70,136 crore (Rs 701.36 billion) to its valuation in just a minute, taking its total market cap to Rs 3,76,752 crore (Rs 3.76 trillion). Shares of RIL jumped over 20 per cent to Rs 2,350 on the BSE.
The coveted club of top-10 valued firms, comprising six public sector companies and four private sector players, added Rs 2,27,318 crore (Rs 2.27 trillion) to take its valuation to Rs 15,13,829 crore (Rs 15.13 trillion).
At the end of Friday's trade, the market cap of coveted club was Rs 12,86,511 crore (Rs 12.86 trillion).
The 30-share Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex zoomed 2,111 points and hit the upper circuit to close at 14,284.21 points. It surged 1,305.97 points at 13,479.39 in opening trade and hit the upper circuit following which trading was halted for two hours.
The shuffling in the elite club saw Bharti Airtel moving up one place to the third by adding Rs 22,818 crore (Rs 228.18 billion), while NTPC slipped to fourth after adding Rs 18,470 crore (Rs 184.70 billion). Market cap of Bharti Airtel stood at Rs 1,74,645 crore (Rs 1.74 trillion) and NTPC at Rs 1,73,155 crore (Rs 1.73 trillion) at the closure of trade today.
