This time, Apple will be more aggressive in India and has already signed over 100 partners for its Authorised Mobility Resellers programme.
Apple may launch the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus in India by mid-October, in the second phase of distribution by the global technology giant, a person familiar with the development said.
The Cupertino-based tech giant had launched the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus around the same time last year.
Apple unveiled the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus on September 9 at an event in San Francisco. The devices will be available for pre-order on September 12 and will go on sale on September 25 in major global markets.
The company has stuck to a similar launch schedule for the new set of iPhones; the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus went on pre-order on September 12 last year and went on sale on September 19, 2014.
This time around, Apple expects to be more aggressive in India. It has already signed over 100 partners for its Authorised Mobility Resellers (AMR) programme. Apple’s India revenue in 2014 was around $1 billion.
Apart from the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, Apple also launched a larger 12.9-inch iPad Pro, a new Apple TV after a three-year-long wait and introduced new models of the Apple Watch.
