Railways launches smart card for cashless treatment

To alleviate problems faced by senior railway personnel in availing treatment during emergencies, Railway Board Chairman K C Jena launched a cashless smart card under a pilot project at the Northern Railway Central HospitalĀ in New Delhi on Friday.

The function to launch the project was attended by Director General of the Railway Health Services V K Ramteke General Manager of Northern Railways

Shri Prakash, Chief Medical Director of Northern Railway R N Tripathi and members of Railway Unions.

Some smart cards were distributed to a few of the railway employees on the occasion.

A release issued by Northern Railway said forms and brochures related to the project would be made available in various Railway health units under Delhi and New Delhi areas from August 27.
