Fourth largest software exporter from India, Satyam Computer Services on Thursday said it would expand its global footprint by opening more delivery centres and sales offices overseas.

"We are systematically expanding our global footprint. That is a thrust area for us," B Ramalinga Raju, chairman, Satyam said.

He said, "it (expansion of global footprint) helps us to serve our global customers better." When asked whether the company will open more sales offices or development centres outside India, Raju said, "The expansion will be on both the accounts."

He, however, did not disclose the countries where Satyam plans to expand. Satyam is currently present in 46 countries. In November, it opened a development centre in Hungary and an office in Brazil in October.

In Brazil, the company expects to have a team of 100 associates in place by October 2005. The opening of Satyam's Hungary development centre took the number of delivery centres of the company to 20.

The Hungary centre is located on a 6000 sq ft location within the Info Park campus in Budapest and can initially house up to 60 IT professionals with the option of recruiting several hundred more.
