BSES Ltd, a Reliance group entity, has reported a massive 539.04 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 93.3 crore (Rs 933 million) for the third quarter ended December 31, 2003, compared to Rs 14.6 crore (Rs 146 million) in the same quarter last fiscal.
The board has approved payment of a 10 per cent quarterly dividend (Rs 1 per share), BSES informed the Bombay Stock Exchange on Wednesday.
Total income in Q3 of the current fiscal has increased to Rs 1,093.68 crore (Rs 10.94 billion) from Rs 680.61 crore (Rs 6.81 billion) in the same period of last fiscal, it added.
Reliance group has rechristened the Mumbai-based power utility major as Reliance Energy.
