Senior citizens to get rail concession from Tuesday

Senior citizens (those aged 60 years and above) will get 30 per cent fare concession on all trains, including Rajdhani and Shatabdi from Tuesday.

The concession, announced in the Rail Budget in February, will be applicable on Mail and Express fares of all classes and the all-inclusive composite fares of Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Jan Shatabdi trains, according to an official release on Tuesday.

The same concession was available to women from April 1 last year.

Tickets already issued for travel on and after April 1 will not be eligible for refund of the difference of fares.
