From Wednesday, commuters using the refurbished Mumbai-Pune highway would have to pay a toll.

The 117 km stretch has recently been widened at a cost of Rs 286.5 crore (Rs 2.86 billion).

The Maharashtra government intends recovering expenses from commuters, according to official sources.
