Volkswagen, Europe's largest car maker, on Wednesday launched the facelifted version of Jetta in India at Rs 13.87 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai).
The car will compete in a segment, which witnesses annual sales of 30,000 units. VW has a market share of around 10 per cent in this segment.
Other players in this segment include Toyota Corolla, Chevrolet Cruze and Hyundai Elantra.
Demand has been falling in this segment as buyers shifted either shifted to premium variants of mid-size sedans or entry variants of luxury sedans.
The new Jetta will come in six variants together having 1.4 litre petrol and 2 litre diesel engines.
The top-end model will cost Rs 20.17 lakh.
All its variants will have airbags, anti-lock braking system and electronic stability control.
