Country's largest car-maker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) on Tuesday reported 9.7 per cent rise in total sales in November at 1,20,824 units as against 1,10,147 units in the same period, last year.
The company said its domestic sales increased by 10.6 per cent during the month to 1,10,599 units as against 1,00,024 units in November 2014.
Sales of mini segment cars, including Alto and WagonR, declined by 4.7 per cent to 35,981 units as compared to 37,746 units in the year-ago month, MSI said in a statement.
The company said sales of the compact segment comprising Swift, Estilo, Ritz, Dzire and recently launched Baleno increased by 19.5 per cent to 44,626 units in November this year as against 37,339 units last year.
MSI said sales of its compact sedan Dzire Tour increased by 69.1 per cent during the month-under-review at 3,363 units as against 1,989 units in November 2014.
The sales of company's mid-sized sedans Ciaz and SX4 in November stood at 5,509 units, up 5.3 per cent as against 5,232 units in the same period last year.
There was no sale of premium sedan Kizashi during the month. Sales of utility vehicles, including Gypsy, Grand Vitara, Ertiga and S-Cross rose by 57.5 per cent at 8,688 units in November this year from 5,515 units in the corresponding month, last year.
Sales of vans--Omni and Eeco rose 1.9 per cent to 12,432 units in November this year as compared to 12,203 units in the same period of previous year.
Exports during the month rose by 1 per cent to 10,225 units as compared to 10,123 units in November last year, MSI said.
