The city-based museum, which is expected to serve as the focal point for the central bank's public education and outreach programme, display exhibits of currency ranging from neolithic axes to stored value cards, an RBI spokesperson said in Mumbai on Friday.
These displays are divided into three galleries. On display are some of the smallest coins in the world, the nomenclatures that they assumed down the ages and their metals and alloys.
For children, the museum also has interactive information kiosks that have games to help them learn various aspects of currency and coins.
