Will you pay AIDS tax on air tickets?

google preferred source
If the aviation ministry has its way, your air travel is likely to get costlier. The government is planning to tax air tickets to fund AIDS programmes.

Such a plan was first mooted by France, which taxes airline tickets to fund health projects. France was supported by 12 other countries.

The 12 countries -- Brazil, Britain, Chile, Congo, Cyprus, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Luxembourg, Madagascar, Mauritius, Nicaragua and Norway-- pledged their support to France in March to tax air tickets to support HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria programmes.

What do you think of this plan? Do you think India should adopt this policy?
