The Make in India vision has changed the outlook of the entire country, says Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.

Describing Maharashtra as the "powerhouse" of the country, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said the 'Make in India' vision has led to different states adopting "competitive federalism".

"The Make in India vision has changed the outlook of the entire country. There is a fair competitive atmosphere across states throughout the country. The states are now moving from co-operative to competitive federalism," Fadnavis said at the event in Mumbai where Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the Make in India Week.

Fadnavis further said the idea of 'Make in India' will eventually lead to the states complementing each other and making the country a manufacturing hub.

"In India, Maharashtra has the highest amount of exports, and the largest FDI flow in the country happens here. The 'Make in Maharashtra' initiative will help accomplish the 'Make in India' come true," he said.

To leverage the strengths of Maharashtra vis-a-vis other states, his government had taken a number of initiatives to promote ease of doing business, the chief minister said.

"A number of permissions required to start a new industry have now come down by 60 per cent," Fadnavis claimed.

“Please do your business well but enjoy to the fullest. Thank you for making it big. Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra, Jai Bharat.”
