US-based MyITgroup on Monday opened its India offshore delivery centre with initial plans to hire over 500 SAP experts and said it will tap the huge base of SAP ERP installations in the country.
The privately-held $70 million MyITgroup currently employs 50 professionals at the centre here. It will hire more people for providing remote application services to its customers, besides developing software tools.
"India will be driving our growth," MyITgroup Managing Director David Perroni told reporters in Bangalore.
The Texas-based firm employs 250 SAP engineers in the US, where it will continue adding people, but offers its nearly 270 customers an offshore option that will help save costs between '60 per cent to 80 per cent.'
The India offer includes professional services, remote management, offshore development and system monitoring services to its global customers, while MyITgroup plans to tap the numerous small and medium enterprises that have installed the SAP ERP software for their business.
"The India installations of SAP are unique, where the software is shared by small units. We want to learn this model and replicate in the US," Perroni said.
He said MyITgroup has begun talks with SAP's India operations to build tools and components for the SAP ERP software with an aim for additional revenue.
