Ittiam Systems India on Wednesday said it set up a wholly-owned subsidiary - Ittiam Semiconductor - to enter the fast growing silicon-on-chip design segment.
The Bangalore-based digital signal processing systems start-up is partnering with US-based mixed-signal IC major Silicon Laboratories to develop SOC designs for the wireline communications market.
"It is a combined effort to get to the market faster," Ittiam Systems chairman and chief executive Srinivasan Rajam told reporters in Bangalore.
He declined to comment on specific investments or headcount for the subsidiary but said those were "significant".
