Impetus Technologies, a pioneer in outsourced product development and engineering services, plans a Rs 100 crore (Rs 1 billion) unit in the country.

"Impetus is exploring plans to set up a 2,500-engineer state-of-the-art facility in the first phase of construction of its own campus at Indore," the company's CEO Praveen Kankariya told reporters in Indore on Monday.

"However, the delay in the construction of IT-park at Indore may drive the company to set up the facility outside Madhya Pradesh in view of the company's business commitments," he said.

"The company is in talks with the government authorities with regard to acquiring a significant amount of space in the proposed IT park", he said, adding, "It is not possible for us to wait for long due to our business commitments".

Headquartered in Silicon Valley, the company has three development centres in Indore, two in Noida and one in Hyderabad.

He further said the company had been on an aggressive recruitment drive and had doubled its headcount over the past year to exceed 700 employees. Continuing on this growth curve, the company is all set to take the employee count to over 1,000 by the end of this year.

Kankariya said the company has been witnessing rapid growth and was expecting a 70-80 per cent increase in its topline in the current fiscal.
