Information technology solutions major i-flex Solutions on Thursday announced its decision to open a new office in China to expand its presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

This move would help the company to meet an increase in demand for its products and services in that area. Opening an office in China was the logical next step, as the company had already opened offices in Singapore and Japan, i-flex Solutions Pte Ltd chief executive officer, Kishore Kapoor said.

"As China liberalises its financial system, the country's banks need to better understand and globalise their operations and comprehend the opportunities and risks they face," he said adding, "we can help them, thanks to our knowledge of financial services industry and experience in over 105 nations."

i-flex intends to offer its flagship product Flexcube in China, which offers double-byte language representation, necessary for the multi-character Chinese language.

Flexcube has the ability to support local languages, he said adding, a bank in China using the suite could provide accessibility to its customers in Chinese, while its customers in other countries could use those countries' local languages.
