The 1st ICICI Bank Retail Excellence Awards 2005, with 21 award categories will also have new categories for the first time in India like 'Loyalty Programme of the Year Award', 'Global Operations of the Year Award', 'Fastest Growing Retailer of the year Award' and 'Global Operations of the Year Award'.
"Retailing in India has seen a paradigm shift with a focus on providing better, efficient, faster and economical service to customers," V Vaidyanathan, senior general manager and head of retail business, ICICI Bank, said.
For the first time, direct customer feedback was taken at retail stores for the short-listed entries of the awards before being presented for the final evaluation to a jury, ICICI Bank said in a statement in New Delhi.
For the 'Mall of the Year Award' category, opinions of five different brands present in the mall were also taken.
ICICI bank has instituted the awards along with KSA Technopark, a consultancy firm in the retail segment, as the knowledge partner.
The ICICI Bank Retail Awards 2005 will be held concurrently with the 7th KSA Retail Summit 2005 at Delhi.
