Indian Airlines has submitted a project report for aquisition of 43 aircraft comprising Airbus A-319s, Airbus A-320s and Airbus A-321s from Airbus Industries between 2003-04 and 2007-08 at a net cost of Rs 10,089 crores (Rs 100.89 billion), the Rajya sabha was informed on Tuesday.
The proposed aircraft are to be fitted wiith CEM-56 engines, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Rajiv Pratap Rudy said in a written reply to a question, adding the selection of aircraft and engines were based on techno-economic evaluation of offers received from the manufacturers.
