The GSM subscriber base in the country rose marginally in November to reach 68.80 crore (Rs 688 million), with 48.67 lakh (4.86 million) new users added during the month, industry body COAI said on Monday.
The subscriber base had stood at 68.31 crore (683.1 million) at the end of October 2013, Cellular Operators Association of India said.
Market leader Bharti Airtel added the maximum 17.22 lakh (1.72 million) new users during the month to take its base to 19.65 crore (196.5 million) at the end of November.
The company enjoys a market share of 28.57 per cent.
Aircel added 15.4 lakh (1.54 million) new users to take its subscriber base to 6.52 crore (65.2 million)
Second largest operator Vodafone added 13.3 lakh (1.33 million) users to increase its base to 15.80 crore (Rs 158 million) at the end of November, with a market share of 22.97 per cent, COAI said.
Idea Cellular added 36,219 new subscribers and its base at end of November stood at 12.84 crore (Rs 128.4 million).
Its market share was at 18.66 per cent.
Videocon added 185,000 new users and its total subscriber base increased to 36.7 lakh (3.67 million) at the end of November. Uninor also added 36,089 new users in the month and its overall user base at the end of November stood at 3.23 crore (32.3 million), it said.
State-run Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited added 5,933 new users in the reported month to take its base to 34.52 lakh (3.45 million).
