The government is planning to introduce a revised and simplified scheme for easy exit of non-functional and defunct companies.
"Though 25,000 applications were filed and only 3,000 companies availed the previous scheme, the government wants to further simplify it," an official statement said in New Delhi on Tuesday.
The previous scheme notified on March 25, 2003 was operational till March this year.
The government is devising the new scheme in consultation with experts and some industry associations, it added.
